Willie Ruth Eitner, known to many as Mamalu, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the age of 88. Our feisty and loving matriarch graced this earth on Valentine’s Day, 1932, and married the love of her life, Arthur Stephenson Eitner, on January 15, 1950. Their legacy lives on with 5 beautiful girls, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter on the way. She is survived by Audrey Hathaway and husband Steve of Westerville, OH; Arlene Sharp of Amarillo, Tx; Aletta Owens and husband Mike of Lubbock TX; Annette Dearman and Terry Simms and husband John of Canyon TX.
Mama Lu loved hosting all-night canasta parties with her family and picked up more spares at the bowling alley than most of us will see in our lifetimes. Her signature color was purple and she collected just about anything that resembled an elephant or a clock - yet she never kept to anyone’s schedule but her own. We have no doubt that she’s already made her husband, granddaughter Kristy Owens, son in laws Larry Dearman and Michael Sharp, and all who preceded her in death, laugh. And she is now working on a better way to arrange the furniture in heaven for the next Cowboys game.
Graveside service will be held Friday, November 27, 2020 @ 11:00am at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
