Neno Joan Smith passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023. She was 74.
Neno was born on April 21st, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas to Billy C Smith and Doris Smith (Seymour). Named Mildred at birth, her oldest brother David nicknamed her Neno as a toddler & the name stuck. Neno graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1967. She was an accomplished artist and went on to study 6 years at Kirk Richards Studio specializing in Old Master Oil & Figure Drawing, Atelier School of Masters & with Scott Christensen Landscape in Idaho. Neno was a refined woman who loved to travel and was always up for an adventure. She was a beautiful person inside and out and she cared so deeply for the people around her. She was kind, passionate and the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back. Neno made an impact on many lives. She loved Jesus and her Christian faith was an essential part of her life. Neno was a devoted sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be forever missed.
Neno is proceeded in death by her father & mother, Billy C & Doris Smith, Brother David Smith, Brother-in-Law Dorman Nichols and oldest niece Gina Nichols. She is survived by her best friend & sister Paula Nichols of Canyon, beloved brother Billy C Smith Jr and wife Billie Anne of North Richland Hills, and numerous nieces & nephews whom she loved dearly, and they loved her the same.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Rockwell Road Baptist Church, 7250 W Rockwell Rd
