Chlolon Jasper "jay" Skinner took his long awaited journey home on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He passed at his home in Amarillo, TX at the age of 75.
Jay is survived by his daughter Christie Barajas and husband Jeffery Barajas of Canyon, 3 grandchildren, Wesley Stevens of Canyon, Trinity Stevens and husband Walter Simms of Canyon and Kathy Gardner and husband Jeff Gardner of Lubbock, TX; 8 great grandchildren, Kadence Grady, Kory Stevens, Connor Stevens, Ryder Stevens, Hayden Grady, Summer Stevens, Shayden Walker, and Emma Stevens.
Jay was born on June 13, 1945 in Houston, Texas. He was raised in Victoria, Texas by his great aunt and uncle who quickly became "Momma and Whitey," Dolphus Malone White and Zula Lee White. He attended Victoria High school. Jay entered the United States Air Force in October of 1963 and was discharged in October of 1967. He was very proud of his service to his country.
He was affectionately known to his family as "grandpa Jay." He had an adventurous streak and was not afraid to try anything at least once. He enjoyed fishing and his many adventures with his life-long friend Joe McCann who preceded him in death. Most of his working live he was in the security industry.
He was loved by his family and he will be dearly missed.
