Elvin "Dean" Adams Obituary

Dean was born to William and Agnes Adams on December 18, 1934, on the banks of the Salt Fork River, Greer County, Oklahoma. He passed away on April 30, 2023, at home in Canyon, Texas, after a lengthy illness.

He married the Love of his Live, Anna Marie Hoffman, December 18, 1955. Together, they had 7 children, Dianna Carlisle (Kent), Cliff Adams (Becky), Ronnie, Kathy, Danny, Roxanne Vasquez (Ray) and Ken Adams.

Dean was active in the agriculture industry as ELDA Cattle Company. He was a cattle buyer and hauler, as well as a farmer and rancher in different areas of Texas and Oklahoma. He settled in Canyon, Texas where he and Anna raised their children. Dean loved music and was a talented self-taught musician and vocalist. He played several instruments, but his favorites were his guitars and the harmonica. Dean was active in several bands throughout his years.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife Anna, sons Cliff Adams and Ronnie Adams, four grandchildren, Clint, Tyson, Tejay and William, two great grandchildren Tyler and Kinzee. Three brothers Kennith R. Adams, Darroll Adams and Harroll Adams.

Dean is survived by his children Diana, Kathy, Danny, Roxanne and Ken, his "out-laws" Kent, Becky, Debbie, Shannon and Ray. His pride and joy were the 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Dean is also survived by 2 brothers Carroll Adams and Gerald Adams, numerous Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews and Cousins. Throughout his 88 years, Dean made friends with a great number of people in many locations, he considered these friends his family, as well.

The family would like to give special thanks to the many caretakers who loved him, especially the family members and his Hospice nurses.

Services to be held at Holley Funeral Home Chapel, Canyon, Texas, @ 11:00 A.M., on Saturday April 15, 2023.

Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Umbarger, Texas
