Dorothy Louise (Clark) Rice

Dorothy was born on October 31, 1930, to Katie and Emerald Clark, in Grand Oklahoma. She was the oldest of 4 children, which include Emerald J., Jerry and Nina.

She met and married Calvin L. Floyd in Arnett, Oklahoma, in 1951 and had three children, Connie, Emerald L. and Terry.

After spending some time in Friona, Texas; they settled and laid down roots in Canyon, Texas. After the children were grown, she worked at WTA&M University as a custodian for 27 years, before retiring in 1985. Following her retirement, she was a devoted and loving grandmother to 4 grandchildren. She was also very active at the First Baptist Church in Canyon, TX; as well as the Victory Voice choral group.

She was also a member of the Randall County Home Demonstration Club and LLL Club. She was an avid scrapbooker and loved Arts and Crafts of all sorts.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, two brothers and ex-husband.

She is survived by Connie and husband Howard of Amarillo, Texas; Emerald L and Tina Floyd of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Terry and Pam Davis-Floyd of San Leandro, California; as well as 4 Grandchildren Nathan, Larry Jr., Jeremy and Allex Davis-Floyd and his wife Brianna; and many, many beloved friends. 

Visitation will be on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Services to held at Holley Funeral Home Chapel, Canyon, TX, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 2:00pm. Gene Jones officiating.

Burial to follow at Memory Gardens.
